Helen Clarence is an artist who grew up in the North East of England but is now living in Cork , southern Ireland . Her interest in fabrics and embroidery was inevitable as home life as a child was surrounded by examples of needlework executed by her mother and grandmother.

An experienced teacher, interest in embroidery, beads and textile art expanded after completing a diploma in design and creative embroidery.

Her work is colourful and she is drawn to textural surfaces that can be embellished by beads and by stitching. Embroidered panels and wall hangings feature both machine and hand embroidery as well as bead embellishments. Home accessories and art to wear jewellery, bags and scarves are all unique and individual with no design repeated twice.
